Tsunami wave propagation model: A fractional approach

Priti Tandel et al.

Summary: This paper presents a fractional approach to studying the mathematical model of tsunami wave propagation along a coastline. The Fractional Reduced Differential Transform Method (FRDTM) is used to analyze the model, and solutions for different coastal slopes and ocean depths are obtained. The effects of coast slope and sea depth variations on tsunami wave velocity and wave amplification are demonstrated at different time levels and orders alpha. The proposed method is validated by comparing the results with the Elzaki Adomian Decomposition Method (EADM) for an order alpha = 1.

FORCED NONLINEAR OSCILLATOR IN A FRACTAL SPACE

Ji-Huan He et al.

Summary: This paper establishes a fractal-differential model for a nonlinear vibration system in a fractal space. The basic properties of a fractal oscillator are revealed using the fractal Duffing-Van der Pol oscillator as an example. The stability criteria are obtained through analytic approximate solutions and nonlinear frequency analysis. Linearized stability theory and multiple time scales technique are utilized for stability analysis.

Numerical Investigation of Nonlinear Shock Wave Equations with Fractional Order in Propagating Disturbance

Jiahua Fang et al.

Summary: In this paper, a scheme using the Mohand transform and the homotopy perturbation method is developed to handle fractional-order shock wave equations and wave equations. The approach allows for obtaining series solutions from the recurrence relation after only a few iterations and presents approximate and precise solutions in the form of convergent results.

Sawi Transform Based Homotopy Perturbation Method for Solving Shallow Water Wave Equations in Fuzzy Environment

Mrutyunjaya Sahoo et al.

Summary: This manuscript presents a new hybrid technique for solving one-dimensional shallow water wave equations, aiming to find approximate solutions including fuzzy uncertain initial conditions. The study compares crisp and fuzzy uncertainties, and the proposed method ultimately presents the solution results through Gaussian fuzzy number plots.

THE ENHANCED HOMOTOPY PERTURBATION METHOD FOR AXIAL VIBRATION OF STRINGS

Ji-Huan He et al.

Summary: In this study, a governing equation for string axial vibrations with temporal and spatial damping forces is established using the Hamilton principle, which is an extension of the well-known Klein-Gordon equation. The classical homotopy perturbation method is found to be ineffective in analyzing this equation, prompting a modification with an exponential decay parameter. The analysis reveals that the amplitude decays exponentially with the damping parameter, and a frequency equation is established along with a stability condition analysis. The modified homotopy perturbation method proves to be more effective for nonlinear oscillators and successfully overcomes the shortcomings of the classical approach, as evidenced by the excellent agreement between analytical and numerical solutions.

The reducing rank method to solve third-order Duffing equation with the homotopy perturbation

Ji-Huan He et al.

Summary: This work applies a nonstandard scheme to solve the third-order Duffing equation, discussing the solution and stability conditions for the first time. The analysis is new, utilizing the reducing rank method and homotopy perturbation method. Nonoscillator and oscillating solutions are derived separately, with a frequency formula obtained, and stability analysis is also discussed.
