Efficacy of SCMs to mitigate ASR in systems with higher alkali contents assessed by pore solution method

Marie Joshua Tapas et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the effectiveness of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in mitigating alkali-silica reaction (ASR) even with high alkali content cements. A new ASR testing method was developed by studying concrete prism expansion in simulated pore solution.

Influence of Limestone Mineral Addition in Cements on the Efficacy of SCMs in Mitigating Alkali-Silica Reaction Assessed by Accelerated Mortar Bar Test

Marie Joshua Tapas et al.

Summary: This study found that the addition of limestone in cement does not exacerbate alkali-silica reaction (ASR), has no detrimental effect on the efficacy of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in ASR mitigation, and likewise does not exhibit ASR-mitigating properties under the test conditions.
