In Silico Contact Pressure of Metal-on-Metal Total Hip Implant with Different Materials Subjected to Gait Loading

Summary: This study investigates the contact pressure of metallic materials used in metal-on-metal bearing for total hip implants using a finite element simulation model. The results show that the use of Ti6Al-4V-on-Ti6Al4V can significantly reduce the contact pressure.

The results showed that artefact size decreased and image quality improved with increasing energy levels.
