A novel nano-hybrid carbon architecture as chemo sensor for natural hazards: Active adsorption of Rose Bengal dye and detection of hazard pollutants at ppb level

Mansour A. S. Salem et al.

Summary: A novel nano-hybrid metallic carbon-based architecture has been developed, showing excellent adsorption capacity for rose bengal (RB) and high sensing activity for nitroaromatic compounds (NACs) and chromium Cr(VI). The MOs@CNT nanomaterial demonstrates a sensitive luminescence quenching response to various compounds in an aqueous medium, with low detection limits for nitrobenzene (NB) as well.

Electrochemical synergies of Fe-Ni bimetallic MOF CNTs catalyst for OER in water splitting

Lubna Yaqoob et al.

Summary: This study systematically analyzed the electrocatalytic behavior of an amiable and economical FeNiNH2BDC MOF and its CNTs composites for oxygen evolution reaction. The synergistic effect of bimetallic MOF and conductive CNTs support was found to enhance the catalytic response. The FeNiNH2BDC-5 wt % CNTs composite showed promising catalytic activity, making it a potential alternative to expensive Pt, Pd, Ir, and Ru based catalysts.

Cerium-Based Metal-Organic Framework Nanocrystals Interconnected by Carbon Nanotubes for Boosting Electrochemical Capacitor Performance

Cheng-Hui Shen et al.

Summary: In this study, nanocrystals of a cerium-based metal-organic framework (Ce-MOF), Ce-MOF-808, are directly grown on the surface of carboxylic acid-functionalized carbon nanotubes (CNTs) via a one-step solvothermal synthesis method. The Ce-MOF-CNT nanocomposites with different ratios are synthesized and characterized. It is found that while the pristine Ce-MOF shows electrochemical activity, its charge transport behavior is limited. The addition of redox-active Ce-MOF-808 nanocrystals significantly enhances the capacitive performance of CNTs in aqueous-based supercapacitors.
