A new method for broadening the detection range of immunoassay and its application in β-hCG quantitative detection

Bei Zhang et al.

Summary: Early pregnancy prediction requires high sensitivity in beta-hCG detection, while embryonic development monitoring and trophoblastic disease detection require a wider detection range. In this study, a light-initiated chemiluminescence assay (LICA) was used with immobilized monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) of different affinities to detect beta-hCG. The assay showed high sensitivity, good linearity, and correlation with a standard assay, making it a reliable method for beta-hCG detection.

Rapid, sensitive universal paper-based device enhances competitive immunoassays of small molecules

Takeshi Komatsu et al.

Summary: Competitive immunoassays are the standard means of detecting small molecules, but traditional methods are difficult to apply during point-of-care tests. Paper-based analytical devices are rapid and straightforward, but there are few devices proposed for competitive immunoassays.

Mesoporous silica-mediated controllable electrochemiluminescence quenching for immunosensor with simplicity, sensitivity and tunable detection range

Yi Xiao et al.

Summary: This study presents a mesoporous silica-mediated controllable electrochemiluminescence quenching immunosensor for straightforward and accurate measurement of immunological biomarkers. The sensitivity can be enhanced and the detection range can be broadened by tuning the ECL quenching, offering a new avenue for physiological and clinical implications of immunological biomarkers with a wide range of applications.
