Experimental validation of Vitex negundo leaves hydroalcoholic extract for neuroprotection in haloperidol induced parkinson's disease in rat

Aishwarya Vannur et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of Vitex negundo leaf extract on Haloperidol-induced Parkinson's disease in rats. The extract showed antioxidant and acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity. In vivo experiments demonstrated that the extract improved motor function, cognition, and memory, and restored cholinergic function, enhanced antioxidant defense, and increased dopamine levels. These findings suggest that Vitex negundo could be a valuable source for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.

Drotaverine Inhibitor of PDE4: Reverses the Streptozotocin Induced Alzheimer's Disease in Mice

Samra Nazir et al.

Summary: This study investigated the role of the PDE4 inhibitor drotaverine in the management of Alzheimer's disease and found a dose-dependent improvement in behavioral and biochemical markers of AD, with the most significant response at a dose of 80 mg/kg. Drotaverine was shown to ameliorate cognitive impairment and modulate neurotransmitter levels in the brain.
