Global distribution of plasmid-mediated colistin resistance mcr gene in Salmonella: A systematic review

Ana Beatriz Portes et al.

Summary: This systematic review focuses on detecting a mobilized colistin resistance gene in Salmonella from multiple studies to understand its global distribution. China has the highest frequency of Salmonella strains carrying the mcr gene, while Europe has a diverse distribution of positive mcr strains. The overuse of colistin in animal husbandry has contributed to the emergence of mcr gene in China.

Influence of climatic factors on the temporal occurrence and distribution of total and pathogenic Vibrio parahaemolyticus in oyster culture environments in Taiwan

Nodali Ndraha et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the occurrence and distribution of total and pathogenic V. parahaemolyticus in oyster culture environments in Taiwan. The results showed that V. parahaemolyticus was detected in 93% of the collected samples, with concentrations significantly associated with sea surface temperature. These findings could be used to improve the accuracy of the risk assessment model for V. parahaemolyticus in oysters in Taiwan.
