Cloning and functional analysis of a trypsin-like serine protease from Pinctada fucata martensii

Haiying Liang et al.

Summary: This study identified a TLS-like gene, PmTLS, in Pinctada fucata martensii and investigated its role in the innate immune response. The results showed that PmTLS is highly expressed in hemocytes and can inhibit the growth of gram-negative bacteria.

Gene cloning and functional study of PmKSPI from Pinctada fucata martensii

Chenghao Shen et al.

Summary: In this study, PmKSPI, a four-domain Kunitz-type serine protease inhibitor, was cloned and functionally characterized in Pinctada fucata martensii. The results suggest that PmKSPI is tightly associated with the immunological defense of P. f. martensii and may have a bactericidal effect on Gram-negative bacteria.

The succinylome of Pinctada fucata martensii implicates lysine succinylation in the allograft-induced stress response

Meizhen Zhang et al.

Summary: This study explored the effects of nucleus implantation on lysine succinylation in the marine bivalve Pinctada fucata martensii. The researchers identified differentially expressed succinylation sites and proteins in response to implantation and identified overrepresented motifs and pathways associated with the succinylated proteins. The findings provide insights into the biological role of large-scale succinylation in this bivalve after nucleus insertion surgery.

Novel Findings in Teleost TRAF4, a Protein Acts as an Enhancer in TRIF and TRAF6 Mediated Antiviral and Inflammatory Signaling

Ying Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a TRAF4 ortholog (Lc-TRAF4) was identified and characterized in large yellow croaker. Lc-TRAF4 was found to play an important role in immune regulation and inflammatory responses. It activated IRF3, IRF7, and type I IFN promoters and enhanced antiviral and inflammatory signaling mediated by Lc-TRIF and Lc-TRAF6. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the immune system in fish.

Genome-wide analysis of TRAF gene family and its response to bacterial infection in noble scallop Chlamys nobilis with different carotenoids content

Hongkuan Zhang et al.

Summary: This study identified and characterized four TRAF genes in noble scallops, revealing their important roles in scallop innate immunity. The expression levels of CnTRAF genes in golden scallops were significantly higher than those in brown scallops, indicating carotenoids may enhance CnTRAF gene expression and immunity. The systematic analysis of the roles of TRAFs in C. nobilis provides valuable information for further research on CnTRAF genes.

The Structure and Ubiquitin Binding Properties of TRAF RING Heterodimers

Anubrita Das et al.

Summary: Members of the TRAF family share a common domain architecture but play distinct physiological roles in cell signaling. The RING domain of TRAF6 forms homodimers and heterodimers with TRAF3 and TRAF2, promoting ubiquitin chain assembly. Both homo- and hetero-dimers of TRAF have the potential to modulate TRAF-mediated signaling by interacting with nearby TRAF trimers.
