Anti-tRNA synthetase syndrome interstitial lung disease: A single center experience

Erin M. Wilfong et al.

Summary: Recognition of Anti-tRNA synthetase (ARS) related interstitial lung disease (ILD) is crucial for timely treatment. This study found that 51.9% of ARS patients had ILD, which was comparable to the frequency in systemic sclerosis. The severity of lung function decline in ARS patients was similar to certain other disease groups. ARS-ILD patients had a longer time to diagnosis compared to other myositis-ILD patients.

Clinical experience in anti-synthetase syndrome: a monocentric retrospective analytical study

Quentin Maloir et al.

Summary: Anti-synthetase syndrome (ASS) is a rare autoimmune disorder with complex radiological presentations and requires specific monitoring for treatment response evaluation. This study found different profiles for different autoantibodies according to age and radiological characteristics, contributing to improved diagnosis and therapeutic approaches.

Summary: This study demonstrates that DM-ILD patients with negative MSA/MAA have favorable long-term outcomes. Decreased baseline PaO2/FiO2 is identified as an independent prognostic factor for this group of patients.

Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies

Ingrid E. Lundberg et al.

Summary: Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, also known as myositis, are a group of autoimmune disorders with heterogeneous clinical manifestations and organ involvement. Different subtypes have varying prognoses, treatment responses, and organ manifestations, highlighting the importance of understanding the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms.

Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies: a review

Catherine Ashton et al.

Summary: Idiopathic inflammatory myopathy is an umbrella term for various subtypes including dermatomyositis, polymyositis, and necrotising autoimmune myopathy, each presenting with similar clinical features but distinguishable by serum creatine kinase levels and specific muscle involvement. Treatment options are evolving, with focus on diagnosis and therapy based on clinical assessment, serology, and imaging.

Antisynthetase Syndrome Masquerading as Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis

Vasilios Tzilas et al.

Summary: Interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) are a diverse group of disorders with both known and unknown causes. Diagnosis can be challenging, particularly in distinguishing between idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and connective tissue disease-associated ILD. Antisynthetase syndrome (ASyS) can present a diagnostic challenge, especially when lung involvement is predominant or extrapulmonary manifestations are subclinical. Coordination between pulmonologists and rheumatologists is essential for accurate diagnosis and management.
