Optimal operation of an all-in-one EV station with photovoltaic system including charging, battery swapping and hydrogen refueling

Alper Cicek

Summary: The issue of electrification of transportation is being discussed due to the depletion of conventional resources and environmental problems. Different options have been proposed for the electrification of electric vehicles (EVs), but the scarcity of charging, swapping, or refueling stations is hindering the increased prevalence of EVs. An all-in-one EV station (AiOEVS) that can serve all types of EVs is needed. This study proposes an economically optimal energy management model of an AiOEVS, including a photovoltaic system, electrolyzer, and different charging options for EVs.

Two-layer collaborative optimization for a renewable energy system combining electricity storage, hydrogen storage, and heat storage

Guangyao Fan et al.

Summary: Renewable energy systems combining hybrid energy storage and new energy vehicles are beneficial for achieving net-zero carbon emissions in the building and transport sectors. However, there is a lack of mature optimization methods for the configuration and operation of these systems, and the competition between electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicles is unclear. In this study, a renewable energy system combining electricity storage, hydrogen storage, and heat storage is proposed, and a two-layer collaborative optimization model is constructed. The system is applied to a nearly zero-energy community, and the optimization results considering different proportions of electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicles are compared. The results show significant reductions in carbon emissions and costs when considering electric vehicles, as well as an increase in grid interaction. These findings have a positive guiding role for reducing carbon emissions and promoting integration in the building and transport sectors.
