Propionate alleviates myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury aggravated by Angiotensin II dependent on caveolin-1/ACE2 axis through GPR41

Fan Deng et al.

Summary: This study found that propionate alleviates myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury aggravated by Ang II through the CAV-1/ACE2 axis dependent on GPR41. Propionate inhibits the elevation of Ang II levels, thereby reducing myocardial injury. This research provides a new direction for using diet to regulate intestinal flora for the treatment of myocardial I/R injury.

Cardiomyocyte IL-1R2 protects heart from ischemia/reperfusion injury by attenuating IL-17RA-mediated cardiomyocyte apoptosis

Jun Lin et al.

Summary: IL-1R2 plays a protective role in myocardial I/R injury by protecting cardiomyocytes from apoptosis. Overexpression of IL-1R2 can protect cardiomyocytes from apoptosis by reducing the expression of IL-17RA.

Gut microbiota aggravate cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury via regulating the formation of neutrophils extracellular traps

Chunxia Chen et al.

Summary: Gut microbiota aggravate cardiac I/R injury by regulating the formation of NETs. The migration of gut microbiota to blood stimulated the formation of NETs after cardiac I/R. NETs directly lead to apoptosis of myocardial cells and myocardial microvascular endothelial cells. The time point of NETs formation in tissue and blood after I/R were determined by experiments.

The Gut Microbiota (Microbiome) in Cardiovascular Disease and Its Therapeutic Regulation

Md. Mominur Rahman et al.

Summary: In recent years, there has been considerable interest in studying the development and effects of the gut microbiota on the human body, especially its relationship to cardiovascular diseases. The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in human health and can influence the development of cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure and atherosclerosis. Research on the gut microbiota and stroke pathogenesis can provide new therapeutic prospects.

DCA-TGR5 signaling activation alleviates inflammatory response and improves cardiac function in myocardial infarction

Jiaxing Wang et al.

Summary: The study found altered bile acid levels and reduced DCA in the plasma of AMI patients. Administration of DCA improved cardiac function and reduced ischemic injury post-MI, showing that DCA-TGR5 signaling pathway activation decreases inflammation and ameliorates heart function post-infarction.

Hyperleptinemia results in systemic inflammation and the exacerbation of ischemia-reperfusion myocardial injury

Ekaterina A. Polyakova et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that long-term hyperleptinemia in rats can negatively impact cardiac structure and function, leading to issues such as myocardial hypertrophy and myocardial infarction. Blocking the JAK/STAT signaling pathway effectively reverses these negative effects of leptin.
