Analysis of 1-Aroyl-3-[3-chloro-2-methylphenyl] Thiourea Hybrids as Potent Urease Inhibitors: Synthesis, Biochemical Evaluation and Computational Approach

Samina Rasheed et al.

Summary: This study synthesized a series of thiourea compounds with anti-urease activity and characterized them using various analytical techniques. The results showed that these compounds exhibited strong inhibitory activity against jack bean urease, with compound 4i showing the highest activity. Additionally, the study conducted DFT experiments and other analyses to further explore the properties and inhibition mechanisms of these compounds.

Convergent synthesis of carbonic anhydrase inhibiting bi-heterocyclic benzamides: Structure-activity relationship and mechanistic explorations through enzyme inhibition, kinetics, and computational studies

Farhan M. Khan et al.

Summary: A novel series of N-arylated 4-yl-benzamides containing a bi-heterocyclic thiazole-triazole core was synthesized using a convergent methodology. In vitro studies showed potent carbonic anhydrase inhibition for the molecules, particularly compound 9j, which formed a non-competitive enzyme-inhibitor complex. Computational analysis supported the experimental results, suggesting promising medicinal scaffolds for diseases related to uncontrolled enzyme production.

Periodic boundary conditions for arbitrary deformations in molecular dynamics simulations

Paul L. Barclay et al.

Summary: The gLE-PBC method allows for arbitrary deformations in MD simulations, maintaining a rectangular cuboid domain. It is validated against pure shear and shows good agreement with physical properties extracted from equilibrium MD simulations. The method is also capable of simulating three-dimensional shearing and deformations with a full velocity gradient matrix.
