Designing of a Recombinant Multi-Epitopes Based Vaccine against Enterococcus mundtii Using Bioinformatics and Immunoinformatics Approaches

Metab Alharbi et al.

Summary: Enterococcus species are important bacterial pathogens that contribute to hospital-associated infections with high mortality and morbidity rates. In this study, a multi-epitope-based vaccine against Enterococcus mundtii was designed using computational methods. Ten epitopes were selected for vaccine construct design, and the vaccine induced desirable cellular and humoral immune responses. Molecular docking and dynamic simulation results demonstrated the strong binding potency and stability of the vaccine in providing protection against the pathogen.

Pan-vaccinomics approach towards a universal vaccine candidate against WHO priority pathogens to address growing global antibiotic resistance

Saba Ismail et al.

Summary: The study identified a potential universal vaccine candidate against 18 multi-drug resistance bacterial pathogens using in-silico approaches. Nine B-cell-derived T-cell antigen epitopes with affinity to the dominant HLA allele (DRB1*0101) were screened, and a multi-epitope peptide vaccine construct (MEPVC) with beta-defensin adjuvant was designed. Molecular docking and MD simulation were conducted to investigate the binding affinity and molecular interaction of MEPVC with human immune receptors. The in-silico construct is expected to be useful in assessing its immune protection effectiveness against rising antibiotic resistance worldwide.

Ahmad J. Obaidullah et al.

Summary: The study designed a multi-epitope vaccine based on SARS-CoV-2 structural proteins, predicting antigenic T- and B-lymphocyte responses. Molecular docking analysis showed the vaccine had high affinity for TLR4. Both vaccine and receptor molecules exhibited rigid and inflexible characteristics.
