Differential genotypes of TNF-α and IL-10 for immunological diagnosis in discoid lupus erythematosus and oral lichen planus: A narrative review

Ruochong Wang et al.

Summary: Discoid lupus erythematosus and oral lichen planus are chronic immune system-mediated diseases with unclear etiology. The clinical manifestations and histopathology of both diseases are similar, making accurate differential diagnosis and treatment challenging. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial as both are considered precancerous conditions. A serological and genetic diagnostic method based on TNF-alpha and IL-10 is suggested for improved diagnosis.

MCC950 Reduces Neuronal Apoptosis in Spinal Cord Injury in Mice

Ning He et al.

Summary: The study confirmed that MCC950 reduces neuronal apoptosis by inhibiting the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome, leading to improved neuronal functional recovery and reduced scar formation in mice after SCI. It protects the survival of neurons and promotes the recovery of motor function after SCI.

Molecular Beacon Imaging to Visualize Ki67 mRNA for Cell Proliferation Ability

Yuki Murata et al.

Summary: This study aimed to visualize cell proliferation ability using molecular beacons (MB), with Ki67 mRNA as the target. When basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) was added, the increase in Ki67 expression and consequent cell proliferation were chronologically visualized by MB fluorescence. The MB imaging system has wide applications in cell research, cancer diagnosis, drug discovery, and regenerative medicine.

Regulatory mechanisms and clinical significance of vimentin in breast cancer

Zhilong Chen et al.

Summary: Vimentin, as an intermediate filament protein III in mesenchymal cells, has attracted much attention globally for its complex biological functions and important role in epithelial-mesenchymal transition in various tumors, especially breast cancer. Studying the biological function of vimentin and its relationship with breast cancer can provide new insights for clinical diagnosis and targeted therapy of breast cancer.

Application of bioactive hydrogels combined with dental pulp stem cells for the repair of large gap peripheral nerve injuries

Lihua Luo et al.

Summary: By optimizing the scaffold material synthesis protocol, a third-generation nerve regeneration conduit CSM-GFD was constructed and applied for repairing a 15-mm long defect of the sciatic nerve in a rat model. At histologic and physical levels, the conduit regenerated nerve tissue and achieved functional recovery, showing promising potential as a tissue engineering approach for treating large gap defects in peripheral nerve injuries.
