Bimetallic Oxide Catalyst for the Dehydrogenative Oxidation Reaction of Alcohols: Practical Application in the Synthesis of Value-Added Chemicals

Rupali Mittal et al.

Summary: This work demonstrates the preparation of zinc cobalt oxide materials with different Co/Zn molar ratios through thermal annealing. The ZCO-1 sample, with a Co/Zn ratio of 2:1, exhibited superior catalytic activity for the dehydrogenative oxidation of alcohols to carboxylic acids, along with the generation of hydrogen gas. The balanced molar ratio in ZCO-1 resulted in the formation of pure spinel-structured zinc cobalt oxide and a high surface area, leading to faster reaction kinetics and higher productivity.
