Palynological Diversity of Melliferous flora around Apiaries from District Mardan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-Pakistan

Nabila et al.

Summary: This study conducted a preliminary investigation into the pollen morphology of melliferous species frequently visited by honeybees in the district of Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, revealing distinct characteristics of different plant species, with M. azadirachta and M. domestica showing significant features. In addition, the study provided valuable information about melliferous flora for further research and conservation efforts.

Floristic Association of Moist Temperate Forests of Shangla District, Delineated by a Multivariate Approach

Javed Iqbal et al.

Summary: This study used multivariate analysis to explore the moist temperate forests of the Shangla district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aiming to quantitatively describe and differentiate the vegetation groups and their determining factors. The results showed that elevation was the prominent factor influencing the composition of plant communities, while soil characteristics, soil moisture, and other environmental factors also had a significant relationship with vegetation.

Palynological Study of Weed Flora from Potohar Plateau

Anwer Usma et al.

Summary: This study investigated the pollen morphology of 18 weed species using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and identified distinguishable microscopic features. The results showed diverse characteristics in pollen shape, diameter, exine thickness, and surface ornamentation. A taxonomic key was created based on these characteristics to differentiate weed plant species. The study provides important baseline information for distinguishing weed species.

New Fagaceous pollen taxa from the Miocene Soby flora of Denmark and their biogeographic implications

Thomas Denk et al.

Summary: The study investigated dispersed pollen of Fagaceae from the Miocene Soby flora in Denmark, revealing that Fagaceae had more northerly distributions during the Miocene Climatic Optimum (MCO) and Eocene, likely influenced by temperature. Comparing fossil occurrences in different regions, it was found that maritime conditions during the Cenozoic played a role in determining fossil occurrences in current arid or semi-humid areas.

Late Eocene to Late Miocene palaeoecological and palaeoenvironmental dynamics of the Eregli-Ulukisla Basin (Southern Central Anatolia)

Funda Akgun et al.

Summary: The Eregli-Ulukisla Basin in the southeastern Central Anatolian Cenozoic basins is divided into two sub-basins with different palaeotopographic conditions, showcasing changes in flora and climate during the Late Miocene. The study reveals a transition from archaic to advanced angiosperm morphology in pollen assemblages along with recurrent arid phases during sediment deposition.
