The effect of the rainfall on the nitrogen fertilizer schedule of maize in Jilin, China

Yu Bai et al.

Summary: The study shows that different meteorological years can significantly affect the optimal nitrogen fertilizer schedule for maize, and there is a positive correlation between rainfall levels and nitrogen fertilizer amounts in the sowing, VJ, and VT stages, which should be adjusted accordingly.

Maize response to coupled irrigation and nitrogen fertilization under center pivot, subsurface drip and surface (furrow) irrigation: Growth, development and productivity

Suat Irmak et al.

Summary: This study found that coupled irrigation and nitrogen management significantly influence maize yield, leaf area index, and plant height under different irrigation levels. Non-traditional nitrogen application methods showed higher yields under adequate irrigation. Non-traditional nitrogen management methods performed better under center pivot and subsurface drip irrigation methods.

Coupling effects of irrigation amount and nitrogen fertilizer type on grain yield, water productivity and nitrogen use efficiency of drip-irrigated maize

Jinjin Guo et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different irrigation levels and nitrogen fertilizer types on maize production. The results showed that increasing irrigation levels and using specific types of nitrogen fertilizer can significantly improve maize yield and nitrogen use efficiency.

Assessment of Meteorological and Agricultural Drought Occurrence in Central Poland in 1961-2020 as an Element of the Climatic Risk to Crop Production

Renata Kusmierek-Tomaszewska et al.

Summary: The results of numerous studies show that meteorological drought has significant impacts on certain regions in Europe, but trends in dry spell occurrences in some areas are unclear. Further research should focus on seasonal changes to develop strategies for prevention and mitigation.

Effect of Drip Irrigation on Soil Water Balance and Water Use Efficiency of Maize in Northwest China

Yahui Wang et al.

Summary: Drip irrigation has been shown to increase crop water use efficiency by 11% compared to traditional border irrigation, reducing evapotranspiration and soil evaporation. However, the water-saving effect of drip irrigation at a large scale is not always more than a 20% improvement as seen in many field experiments.

THE EFFECT OF NITROGEN APPLICATION IN DIFFERENT DOSES BY FERTIGATION METHOD ON GRAIN YIELD, YIELD COMPONENTS AND QUALITY OF CORN (Zea mays L.)

M. Saracoglu et al.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the optimal nitrogen amount for maize using fertigation, and found that increasing nitrogen doses applied through fertigation method had a positive effect on grain yield and quality. The highest grain yield was obtained with 28 kg da-1 nitrogen application through fertigation system, with no statistical difference observed between 24 kg da-1 and 28 kg da-1 applications.
