Itaconate attenuates osteoarthritis by inhibiting STING/NF-κB axis in chondrocytes and promoting M2 polarization in macrophages

Libin Ni et al.

Summary: This study found that exogenous supplementation of itaconate inhibits inflammation and senescence of chondrocytes through the Nrf2/STING/NF-kappa B axis, reducing the progression of osteoarthritis. Itaconate also regulates the polarization of macrophages, reducing apoptosis of chondrocytes. In vivo, intra-articular injection of itaconate reduces cartilage degradation and synovial membrane inflammation in a mouse model of osteoarthritis.

Apelin-13 induces mitophagy in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells to suppress intracellular oxidative stress and ameliorate osteoporosis by activation of AMPK signaling pathway

Liang Chen et al.

Summary: Apelin plays a crucial role in regulating bone metabolism and mitigating the effects of osteoporosis. Through activation of mitophagy, Apelin-13 treatment was able to improve bone health and function in both in vitro and in vivo models of osteoporosis, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target for osteoporosis.

Ginkgolide B monotherapy reverses osteoporosis by regulating oxidative stress-mediated bone homeostasis

Chien-Wei Lee et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated the therapeutic effects of Ginkgolide B (GB) on osteoporosis by regulating bone cell balance, promoting osteoblast formation, and inhibiting osteoclast generation. GB significantly improved bone mass in aged mouse models and regulated signaling pathways associated with ROS.

Camu-Camu Fruit Extract Inhibits Oxidative Stress and Inflammatory Responses by Regulating NFAT and Nrf2 Signaling Pathways in High Glucose-Induced Human Keratinocytes

Nhung Quynh Do et al.

Summary: The study found that 70% ethanol camu-camu fruit extract can prevent oxidative stress and inflammatory response induced by high glucose in human keratinocytes. Camu-camu fruit modulates multiple signaling pathways and protects keratinocytes from oxidative stress by reducing the expression of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines.

Protective effect of corynoline in a murine allergic rhinitis model via inhibition of caspase-1/NF-κB

Li Wei et al.

Summary: Corynoline (COR) shows protective effects against ovalbumin (OVA)-induced allergic rhinitis (AR) in mice by reducing histamine intensity, cytokine levels, and NF-kappa B binding activity. The findings suggest that COR could be a potential therapeutic agent for AR.
