Canine parturition: what is known about the hormonal setting?

Prostaglandins, oxytocin, and relaxin are also involved in the process, with oxytocin levels useful in distinguishing between normal and disturbed parturition. Despite providing important insights, further research is needed to better understand the hormonal interactions and timing implications for parturition in dogs.
