Simulation of heat loss in Cu2ZnSn4SxSe4_x thin film solar cells: A coupled optical-electrical-thermal modeling

Soma Zandi et al.

Summary: A coupled optical-electrical-thermal modeling was developed to investigate heat generation and dissipation in Cu2ZnSn4SxSe4-x thin film solar cells. The study found that thermalization is the dominant heat generation factor, while factors like Joule heat, non-radiative recombination heat, and surface recombination heat also play important roles. Temperature increases during operation, affecting the fill factor and power conversion efficiency.

Optoelectronic simulation of a high efficiency C2N based solar cell via buffer layer optimization

S. Yasin et al.

Summary: This paper developed a C2N based solar cell and simulated it with various buffer layers, showing that careful optimization of C2N parameters results in good device performance, while high-doping concentration and defect density can deteriorate cell performance. Among the buffer layers, IGZO displayed the best efficiency record of 18.57%.
