Role of ERK Pathway in the Pathogenesis of Atopic Dermatitis and Its Potential as a Therapeutic Target

Nahoko Zeze et al.

Summary: Atopic dermatitis is a skin disorder characterized by inflammation, barrier disruption, and intense itch. This study investigates the involvement of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis. The results suggest that the ERK pathway plays a role in the development of atopic dermatitis and may be a potential therapeutic target.

Non-psychotropic Cannabis sativa L. phytocomplex modulates microglial inflammatory response through CB2 receptors-, endocannabinoids-, and NF-κB-mediated signaling

Vittoria Borgonetti et al.

Summary: Cannabidiol (CBD) and terpenes-enriched Cannabis sativa extract (CSE) can attenuate neuroinflammation by regulating enzymes responsible for endocannabinoid metabolism, inhibiting reactive oxygen species release, and modulating JNK/p38 cascade.

Attenuation of neuroinflammation in microglia cells by extracts with high content of rosmarinic acid from in vitro cultured Melissa officinalis L. cells

Vittoria Borgonetti et al.

Summary: Plant cell culture was used to obtain a standardized Melissa officinalis L. extract (MD) which showed anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective activities. The extract reduced microglia-mediated neuroinflammation and protected neuronal cells against toxicity. This method allows for the obtainment of contaminant-free extracts with improved quali-quantitative ratio.

Catalpol ameliorates psoriasis-like phenotypes via SIRT1 mediated suppression of NF-κB and MAPKs signaling pathways

Aimin Liu et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the therapeutic role of catalpol in psoriasis, and the results suggest that catalpol may ameliorate psoriasis symptoms by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation, possibly through SIRT1-mediated suppression of NF-.B and MAPKs pathways.
