Hepatic macrophage targeted siRNA lipid nanoparticles treat non-alcoholic steatohepatitis

Jing-E Zhou et al.

Summary: In this study, a mannose-modified HMGB1-siRNA loaded stable nucleic acid lipid particle delivery system was constructed to target liver macrophages and treat NASH. The results showed that the delivery system effectively regulated the phenotype of liver macrophages, reduced hepatic inflammation and steatosis, and restored liver function in NASH model mice. Additionally, co-administration of DHA was found to be effective in NASH treatment.

Apolipoprotein E Binding Drives Structural and Compositional Rearrangement of mRNA-Containing Lipid Nanoparticles

Federica Sebastiani et al.

Summary: This study investigated the structure and lipid distribution of LNPs in the presence of ApoE using small-angle neutron scattering. The binding of ApoE was found to cause a redistribution of lipids at the shell and core of LNPs, impacting their internal structure and mRNA release. The rearrangement of LNP components upon ApoE incubation may have implications for LNP endosomal escape.

Quantification of FRET-induced angular displacement by monitoring sensitized acceptor anisotropy using a dim fluorescent donor

Danai Laskaratou et al.

Summary: FADED is a novel method for measuring FRET based on anisotropy rather than proximity, allowing for quantification of the relative angle between donor and acceptor. By suppressing donor bleed-through, purer sensitized acceptor anisotropy measurements can be obtained, making it suitable for live cell imaging.

Fluorescence sensing of cyanide anions based on Au-modified upconversion nanoassemblies

Chunning Sun et al.

Summary: Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET)-based upconversion nanoprobes for cyanide anions were designed by assembling Au nanoparticles on core-shell-structured NaYF4:Yb,Er@NaYF4:Yb upconversion NPs, showing high sensitivity and selectivity. The cyanide-mediated redox reaction leads to the consumption of Au nanoparticles, resulting in UCL recovery by inhibiting the FRET process.
