Label-free Quantitative Proteomic Analysis of Cerebrospinal Fluid and Serum in Patients With Relapse-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis

Haijie Liu et al.

Summary: This study identified potential diagnostic biomarkers for multiple sclerosis (MS) - MMP2, C8G, and CFH. Differential proteins in serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were found to be involved in immune-inflammatory response, neuronal development, cell adhesion, and signaling.

Procoagulant platelets: novel players in thromboinflammation

Frederik Denorme et al.

Summary: Platelets play a crucial role in maintaining hemostasis, but dysregulated activation can lead to thrombosis or bleeding. Aggregatory platelets and procoagulant platelets have distinct roles in thrombosis and hemostasis. Procoagulant platelets, a highly activated subpopulation, express specific proteins that facilitate the binding of coagulation factors and the generation of thrombin.

A prediction model of sepsis-associated acute kidney injury based on antithrombin III

Yun Xie et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown a correlation between antithrombin III (ATIII) and sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (AKI) and established a predictive model based on ATIII levels. Factors such as male sex, cardiovascular disease, and low ATIII levels were identified as independent risk factors for AKI, while age, immune disease, and low ATIII levels were identified as independent risk factors for mortality in sepsis patients. ATIII reduction was closely related to the prognosis of sepsis patients.

miR-195-3p alleviates homocysteine-mediated atherosclerosis by targeting IL-31 through its epigenetics modifications

Jiantuan Xiong et al.

Summary: This study revealed a novel mechanism by which homocysteine (Hcy) accelerates atherosclerosis by inhibiting the expression of miR-195-3p, inducing DNA hypermethylation and H3K9 deacetylation. Additionally, the interaction between Sp1 and DNMT3a promoted the binding of HDAC11 at the miR-195-3p promoter, providing a new target for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
