Summary: The study determined normal values for acoustic radiation force impulse shear wave elastography of the thoracolumbar fascia in 267 healthy participants and found that factors like BMI, gender, sports activity, and alcohol consumption did not have a significant effect on the elasticity or diameter of the fascia. However, smoking and age showed inconsistent effects on either the right or left side of the thoracolumbar fascia.
