Stem Cells-Derived Extracellular Vesicles: Potential Therapeutics for Wound Healing in Chronic Inflammatory Skin Diseases

Enzo Manchon et al.

Summary: Endosome-derived small extracellular vesicles (EVs), also known as exosomes, play a critical role in intercellular communication and have therapeutic potential in regenerative medicine. Stem cell-derived EVs are effective in repair and regeneration, with the human placenta offering a promising allogeneic stem cell source. Advancements in cell-free therapeutics provide new hope and perspectives for safe and effective treatment.

Lyophilization Preserves the Intrinsic Cardioprotective Activity of Bioinspired Cell-Derived Nanovesicles

Yub Raj Neupane et al.

Summary: The study introduced a lyophilization approach to preserve critical characteristics of cell-derived nanovesicles (CDNs) for long-term storage, ensuring structural integrity and biological activity. Trehalose as a lyoprotectant raised the glass transition temperature and reduced residual moisture content of CDNs, maintaining the secondary structure of cellular proteins. Both lyoprotected and freshly prepared CDNs targeted and protected injured hearts within 24 hours in a myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury animal model, highlighting their potential as stable cell-based therapeutics.

Collagen in Wound Healing

Shomita S. Mathew-Steiner et al.

Summary: Normal wound healing progresses through inflammatory, proliferative and remodeling phases, with collagen playing a key role in regulating these phases. Impairments in wound healing can lead to chronic non-healing wounds, where collagen has been utilized as an adjunct therapy to promote healing.

Tissue factor cytoplasmic domain exacerbates post-infarct left ventricular remodeling via orchestrating cardiac inflammation and angiogenesis

Suet Yen Chong et al.

Summary: The study found that the TF cytoplasmic domain exacerbates post-infarct cardiac injury and adverse LV remodeling by regulating inflammation and angiogenesis. Targeted inhibition of TF cytoplasmic domain-mediated intracellular signaling may ameliorate post-infarct LV remodeling.
