High brightness and stability pure-blue perovskite light-emitting diodes based on a novel structural quantum-dot film

Zhiwei Yao et al.

Summary: Researchers have developed a novel structure for perovskite quantum dot (QD) films to enhance the stability and brightness of pure-blue emission in perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs). By incorporating an ultrathin interlayer into the QD film, the charge recombination is effectively controlled, reducing exciton quenching and Auger recombination. The PeLEDs based on this structure exhibit stabilized pure-blue emission and high external quantum efficiency, maintaining high brightness even at high luminance.

All Solution-Processed High Performance Pure-Blue Perovskite Quantum-Dot Light-Emitting Diodes

Aqiang Liu et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates highly efficient and stable pure-blue perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) achieved through an all-solution process. By using difunctional zinc oxide (D-ZnO) nanocrystals, the damaged perovskite surface is repaired and balanced charge injection is achieved to improve the luminous efficiency. The fabricated PeLEDs showed pure-blue emission at a wavelength of 470 nm, with high luminance and external quantum efficiency, as well as a long continuous operation time.

Reducing the impact of Auger recombination in quasi-2D perovskite light-emitting diodes

Yuanzhi Jiang et al.

Summary: By reducing the exciton binding energy of materials and employing a polar molecule for treatment, the Auger recombination effect in perovskite materials has been successfully suppressed, leading to efficient PeLEDs devices with outstanding photoluminescence quantum yields. Additionally, a record luminance of 82,480 cd m(-2) was achieved due to the suppressed efficiency roll-off, making it one of the brightest visible PeLEDs to date.

Ligand-engineered bandgap stability in mixed-halide perovskite LEDs

Yasser Hassan et al.

Summary: By utilizing multidentate ligands to treat mixed-halide perovskite nanocrystals, efficient and color-stable red electroluminescence with a wavelength centered at 620 nanometers and an external quantum efficiency of 20.3% has been achieved. The key function of the ligand treatment is to 'clean' the nanocrystal surface by removing lead atoms, which suppresses the formation of iodine Frenkel defects and halide segregation. This work demonstrates the sensitivity of metal halide perovskites to surface properties and provides a pathway to control surface defect formation and migration, crucial for achieving bandgap stability for light emission and potentially impacting other optoelectronic applications.

Suppression of temperature quenching in perovskite nanocrystals for efficient and thermally stable light-emitting diodes

Mingming Liu et al.

Summary: Fluoride-treated CsPbBr3 nanocrystals exhibit near unity emission efficiency at temperatures up to 373 K, with constant decay kinetics. The treatment leads to surfaces rich in fluorine with wider energy gaps than the core, suppressing carrier trapping and improving thermal stability. Devices incorporating these nanocrystals show low turn-on voltage and high external quantum efficiency, with nearly 80% efficiency maintained at high temperatures, offering a promising pathway for high-performance light-emitting diodes based on perovskite nanostructures.
