Intention Attribution in Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder: An EEG Study

Magdalena Schutz et al.

Summary: This study examined the neural signature of intention attribution (IA) in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and investigated its potential link to contextual updating processes. The results showed no impairment in IA or early contextual updating in ASD, but there was evidence of abnormal processing in the violation of expectations, particularly when the expectation was based on IA. These findings are discussed in the context of impaired predictive coding in ASD.
