Sand or grease effect? The impact of corruption on the investment volume of public-private partnerships

Summary: This study examined the relationship between corruption and investment in public-private partnerships (PPPs) in developing countries. The findings showed that the relationship is negative at low and high levels of corruption, but positive at moderate levels, primarily driven by high investment PPP projects in less developed countries. This reconciles the opposing views on the impact of corruption on investment.
