Properties of Band Gaps and Defect Modes Based on Fibonacci All Superconductor-Semiconductor Aperiodic Photonic Crystals

Youssef Trabelsi et al.

Summary: This article studies a new optical device based on semiconductor-superconductor structures, which shows narrower broadband enhancement of ultrafast two-photon amplification. The optical properties of the device are calculated using the modified 2 x 2 transfer matrix method, and the manipulation of photonic band gaps and transmittance resonance peaks is achieved by adjusting the temperature, hetero-layer thickness, and longitudinal mechanical strain. These devices could be attractive for selective drop or pass through wavebands.

Nonlinear localized gap modes in width-modulated Fibonacci lattices

Weiwei Su et al.

Summary: This article addresses the properties of nonlinear localized gap modes supported by width-modulated Fibonacci lattices, including their existence and stability. The study finds the existence of different families of nonlinear localized modes in two relatively large gaps, with one originating from linear modes and the other two being pure nonlinear modes.

Nonlinear localized gap modes in width-modulated Fibonacci lattices

Weiwei Su et al.

Summary: The study reveals the existence of different families of nonlinear localized modes supported by the width-modulated Fibonacci lattices, with one family originating from the upper band-edge linear mode. These gap modes are mostly stable throughout their existence domain, except for a small region in the middle. Additionally, two other families of nonlinear modes localized in the relatively large gap are found to be pure nonlinear modes, with a narrow stable region near their upper cutoff. The results of linear stability analysis are consistent with propagation simulations.

Tunable properties of omnidirectional band gap based on photonic quasicrystals containing superconducting material

Youssef Trabelsi

Summary: This study investigates the transmittance properties of 1D superconducting photonic quasicrystals with Generalized Fibonacci quasiperiodic sequence. The results show that the 1D SPQCs exhibit a broadening omnidirectional band gap at given GF parameters. The photonic band gap can be adjusted by constituent materials properties and arrangement of layers, with potential enhancements by applying deformation and stacking Fibonacci arrays.

Dodecanacci superconductor-semiconductor dispersive photonic quasicrystal one dimensional

Francis Segovia-Chaves et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the transmittance spectrum in the THz range for a one-dimensional photonic crystal surrounded by air. The results showed that as the Dodecanacci sequence increased, the transmittance peaks split. Furthermore, the cutoff frequency decreased with higher operating temperatures, while it shifted towards higher frequencies with increased hydrostatic pressure at a fixed temperature.
