Corrosion protection of PPy-Ti3C2-modifed epoxy zinc-rich coatings in dilute NaCl solution

Lu Shen et al.

Summary: This study synthesized PPy-Ti(3)C(2) hybrid and added it to epoxy zinc-rich coatings to reduce the zinc content while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance. The results showed that PPy-Ti(3)C(2) improved the corrosion resistance of the coatings and prolonged the duration of cathodic protection.

The influence of graphene on the cathodic protection performance of zinc-rich epoxy coatings

Weichen Bai et al.

Summary: The study found that ZRE with a graphene content of 0.3% showed the best corrosion protection effectiveness. When the graphene content is lower than 0.3%, the coating porosity decreases, reducing the corrosion rate of zinc and extending the cathodic protection duration of the coating. However, when the graphene content is higher than 0.3%, the galvanic corrosion between graphene and zinc powders increases the corrosion rate of zinc, leading to a shortened cathodic protection duration.

Protection-failure mechanism of alkalinization and cathodic protection focusing on coating/metal interfaces

Chao Yang et al.

Summary: Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is a rapid and convenient method to evaluate anti-corrosion performance of coatings, but the clarity of electrochemical reactions at coating/metal interfaces is limited. This paper focuses on discussing the failure mechanisms of protection at coating/metal interfaces using alkalinization and cathodic protection methods.

Study on diffusion mechanism and failure behavior of epoxy coatings focusing on synergistic effect of temperature and water molecules

Chao Yang et al.

Summary: The research focuses on the diffusion of water in coatings, using DGEBA epoxy coating as a sample. The study reveals a synergistic effect of temperature and water on DGEBA properties, showing that the diffusion process of water in coatings has two-phase characteristics at different temperatures. The interaction between water and coatings and the formation of water clusters are discussed based on the variation law of swelling coefficient.
