A methodology for assessing spatio-temporal dynamics of flood regulating services

Stefano Mori et al.

Summary: This study examines the spatio-temporal dynamics of flood regulating ecosystem services and their supply and demand in the Arno River basin in central Italy. Results show that in the last decades, there have been changes in both the demand and supply of ecosystem services, with urbanization leading to increased demand for flood regulation, while land use changes have decreased the basin's capacity for flood regulation.
