Reticular Chemistry for Highly Porous Metal-Organic Frameworks: The Chemistry and Applications

Stability and deactivation of OER electrocatalysts: A review

Carboxylated carbon quantum dot-induced binary metal-organic framework nanosheet synthesis to boost the electrocatalytic performance

Summary: In this study, two-dimensional NiFe-MOF nanosheets with highly efficient oxygen evolution reaction (OER) performance were successfully synthesized using a simple approach. The use of carboxylated carbon quantum dots (CQDs-COOH) as an inducing agent enlarged the layer spacing of NiFe-MOF and increased the positive charge on the active sites, leading to improved OER performance. The nanosheets also exhibited good stability. The results demonstrate the potential application of this method in energy conversion and storage devices.

MXene-Based Quantum Dots Optimize Hydrogen Production via Spontaneous Evolution of Cl- to O-Terminated Surface Groups

Summary: MXene quantum dots (MQDs) offer wide applications due to their abundant surface chemistry, tunable energy-level structure, and unique properties. However, controlling the types of surface groups and tuning the energy-level structure remains a challenge. In this study, we demonstrated the spontaneous evolution of surface groups in Ti2CTx MQDs, resulting in a low Gibbs free energy in the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Our findings also showed excellent operational stability in HER.

The introduction of 1,4-terephthalic acid as a co-coordination ligand not only adjusted the electronic and structural configuration of the catalysts but also improved the interaction between Ni and Fe atoms. The optimal NiFe-NDC0.9BDC0.1 displayed excellent stability and catalytic activity for OER in alkaline media.
