CD25: A potential tumor therapeutic target

Yujia Peng et al.

Summary: CD25 is the alpha-chain of the heterotrimer IL-2 receptor, expressed on the surface of immune and non-immune cells with different frequencies. Its high expression in hematological malignancies and activated immune cells indicates its potential as a target for immunotherapy. The imbalanced ratio of effector T cells and regulatory T cells caused by Tregs infiltration in tumor microenvironment is associated with cancer progression. This paper summarizes the relationship between CD25 and tumors and discusses its important role in tumor therapy, as well as the recent progress of drugs targeting CD25.

Buserelin Inhibits the Immunosuppressive Activity of Regulatory T Cells through the Protein Kinase A Signaling in a Central Precocious Puberty Model

Hua Li et al.

Summary: Buserelin treatment led to decreased frequency of splenic Tregs, reduced expression of Foxp3, IL-10, and TGF-beta, and weakened suppressive activity of Tregs. In vitro, Buserelin down-regulated Foxp3 expression while promoting ROR gamma t and IL-17 expression in Tregs via the protein kinase A (PKA) pathway. Inhibition of PKA enhanced Treg function, suggesting the potential role of Tregs monitoring in CPP patients to prevent autoimmunity or inflammation.

Half-castration is a newly effective method for increasing yield and tenderness of male cattle meat

Van-Ba Hoa et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the effects of two castration methods on meat yield and quality characteristics of Hanwoo male cattle. The half-castration group showed higher meat yields and fat content compared to the complete-castration group. However, there were no significant differences in shear force values and sweetness-associated free amino acids between the two groups.

Activation of Gonadotropin-releasing Hormone Receptor Impedes the Immunosuppressive Activity of Decidual Regulatory T Cells via Deactivating the Mechanistic Target of Rapamycin Signaling

Xuejin Wang et al.

Summary: This study identified an up-regulation of GnRHR in decidual T cell subsets and demonstrated that GnRHR activation impairs the immunosuppressive function of Tregs. Additionally, GnRHR activation suppressed mTOR signaling in Tregs, which was effectively reversed by a mTOR activator MHY1485, highlighting the importance of GnRHR in modulating maternal immune tolerance.

Effects of sex steroids on thymic epithelium and thymocyte development

Matthew D. Taves et al.

Summary: Sex steroid hormones have significant effects on the thymus, causing thymic atrophy. Thymic epithelial cells (TEC), which are highly responsive to sex steroids, play a crucial role. Endogenous steroids have remarkable programming effects on the synthesis of T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire through TEC.

Mechanisms of Reciprocal Regulation of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH)-Producing and Immune Systems: The Role of GnRH, Cytokines and Their Receptors in Early Ontogenesis in Normal and Pathological Conditions

Liudmila Zakharova et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the reciprocal regulatory influence of GnRH and proinflammatory cytokines on the development of the immune system and hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal system, and their functioning in adult offspring. It focuses on the effects of GnRH on thymus development and discusses the main mechanisms of reciprocal regulation between these systems.
