Dynamic changes of soluble HLA-G and cytokine plasma levels in cervical cancer patients: potential role in cancer progression and immunotherapy

Hui-Hui Xu et al.

Summary: This study monitored the dynamic process of soluble HLA-G (sHLA-G) and cytokines in patients with cervical cancer, aiming to understand their relationship with diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. The results showed that sHLA-G and cytokines IL-6, IL-10, and IFN-gamma had a good discriminatory effect between cervical cancer patients and healthy women. The levels of sHLA-G, IL-6, and IL-10 were significantly decreased after radical hysterectomy. IL-6 was positively correlated with IL-10, IL-8 was positively correlated with IL-17, and sHLA-G was negatively correlated with IL-10. Furthermore, certain cytokines were found to be related to 5-year relapse rates and/or metastasis of cervical cancer.

Roles of HLA-G/KIR2DL4 in Breast Cancer Immune Microenvironment

Guoxu Zheng et al.

Summary: HLA-G/KIR2DL4 plays an important role in breast cancer, serving as a key factor in drug resistance and immune evasion. Research on HLA-G is beneficial for identifying new biomarkers for breast cancer, improving the accuracy of diagnosis and prognostic assessment. Additionally, unraveling the mechanisms underlying HLA-G/KIR2DL4 regulation of the immune microenvironment in breast cancer provides a theoretical basis for combined HLA-G and immune checkpoint targeting.

Systematic Evaluation of HLA-G 3'Untranslated Region Variants in Locally Advanced, Non-Metastatic Breast Cancer Patients: UTR-1, 2 or UTR-4 are Predictors for Therapy and Disease Outcome

Vera Rebmann et al.

Summary: This study systematically evaluated the impact of HLA-G 3'UTR polymorphisms on disease status, presence of DTC, soluble HLA-G levels, and therapy and disease outcome in non-metastatic LABC patients. The results showed that specific UTR haplotypes were associated with tumor burden, presence of DTC, and therapy and disease outcome.

The HLA-G immune checkpoint: a new immuno-stimulatory role for the α1-domain-deleted isoform

Diana Tronik-Le Roux et al.

Summary: The heterogeneity of cancer cells poses challenges in therapeutic approaches, and the newly discovered isoform HLA-G increment alpha 1 has immune-stimulatory activity in ccRCC and trophoblasts. Unlike other HLA-G isoforms, HLA-G increment alpha 1 does not associate with beta 2-microglobulin and may not present antigens to T cells. It exerts individual dependent immune-stimulatory effects on peripheral blood NK cells and might have potential antitumor effects.

Pan-cancer pervasive upregulation of 3′ UTR splicing drives tumourigenesis

Jia Jia Chan et al.

Summary: This study systematically reveals the role of 3' UTR splicing in cancer, finding its widespread presence in various types of cancer and its correlation with poor prognosis. Inhibiting 3' UTR splicing can effectively reduce oncogene expression and impede tumor progression, providing new directions for RNA-based anti-cancer therapeutics.

The relationship of 3'UTRHLA-G14-bp insertion/deletionand+3142 C/G polymorphisms and soluble HLA-G expression with gynecological cancers: An updatedmeta-analysis

Kalthoum Tizaoui et al.

Summary: Polymorphisms in HLA-G and sHLA-G expression are associated with gynecological cancers, particularly HPV-associated cervical cancer. Additionally, soluble HLA-G levels are significantly increased in cancer patients. These findings have important implications for the diagnosis and immunotherapy of gynecological cancers.

HPV post-infection microenvironment and cervical cancer

Yi Yuan et al.

Summary: HPV infection is closely linked to cervical cancer, with the post-infection microenvironment (PIM) playing a crucial role in viral persistence and malignant progression. Targeting the PIM may be a potential strategy to enhance therapeutic outcomes for cervical cancer.

Prognostic significance of high circulating sHLA-G in ovarian carcinoma

Wafa Babay et al.

Summary: The study found that levels of sHLA-G and sHLA-G1 were significantly elevated in ovarian carcinoma patients, with high levels of sHLA-G molecules associated with older age, advanced stage, lymph node metastasis, and distant metastasis. Additionally, sHLA-G monomers were also significantly increased in ovarian carcinoma patients. These findings suggest that HLA-G could serve as a potential biomarker for advanced and complicated ovarian carcinoma, with implications for disease progression and recurrence assessment.
