A user-centred design framework for disaster risk visualisation

Summary: Visualisations are powerful tools for communicating and managing natural hazard and disaster risks. However, developing understandable and usable visualisations is a challenge due to the diverse risk management contexts and user characteristics. This study presents a user-centred design framework for disaster risk visualisation, which aims to tailor visualisations to users through a three-phase process: defining the context and user group, iterative design testing, and evaluation of user understanding and decision-making. The framework provides a flexible approach for designing effective and usable disaster risk visualisations.

Aggregation bias and its drivers in large-scale flood loss estimation: A Massachusetts case study
