Preparation and characterization of [6]-gingerol/β-cyclodextrin inclusion complexes

James Almada da Silva et al.

Summary: Six-gingerol, the most abundant secondary metabolite present in ginger oleoresin, is a bioactive compound with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer activities. Its complexation with cyclodextrins can enhance its cytotoxic potential in cancer cell lines and modify its physical state and pungent taste. The inclusion complexes, such as 6G/beta CD and 6G/beta CD/chitosan, have stable properties suitable for practical applications. The inclusion complex with beta CD showed increased solubility and slightly higher bioactivity compared to free 6G.

Nerolidol-beta-cyclodextrin inclusion complex enhances anti-inflammatory activity in arthritis model and improves gastric protection

Eloisa Portugal Barros Silva Soares de Souza et al.

Summary: The study developed a nerolidol beta-cyclodextrin inclusion complex and evaluated its effectiveness in an experimental arthritis model. The inclusion complex showed anti-inflammatory activity and gastroprotective effects. While free nerolidol was more effective in reducing ulcer area in ethanol-induced gastric ulcers, the inclusion complex performed better in protecting against indomethacin-induced ulcers.

Synergistic Anti-inflammatory and Neuroprotective Effects of Cinnamomum cassia and Zingiber officinale Alleviate Diabetes-Induced Hippocampal Changes in Male Albino Rats: Structural and Molecular Evidence

Hailah M. ALmohaimeed et al.

Summary: Cinnamomum cassia and Zingiber officinale in combination exhibit synergistic effects in improving blood glucose levels, reducing neuroinflammation, enhancing antioxidant capacity, and alleviating depressive-like behaviors in diabetic rats. This combination therapy shows superior efficacy compared to single administration of either ginger or cinnamon, providing a promising alternative or complementary supplement for managing diabetes and its neurological and psychiatric complications.
