Structural, morphological, optical, and dielectric properties of PVA-PVP filled with zinc oxide aluminum-graphene oxide composite for promising applications

Fathia Mohamed et al.

Summary: Polymer nanocomposites of PVA and PVP filled with various concentrations of nanocomposite (Zn0.97Al0.03O: 1 wt% GO) were prepared by solution mixing and cast into films. The optical band gap of the composites decreased significantly from 5.2 to 4.7 eV as the nanocomposite fillers varied from 0 to 7 wt%. Additionally, the composite with only 1 wt% of the particle showed extremely high dielectric permittivity and conductivity.

Structure-dynamic properties relationships in poly(ethylene oxide)/silicon dioxide nanocomposites: dielectric relaxation study

F. Mohamed et al.

Summary: Films of polyethylene oxide filled with silicon dioxide were synthesized using the casting method. The addition of SiO2 to PEO increased amorphousity and disrupted the crystalline phase. The dielectric relaxation spectra of PEO were affected by the presence of SiO2, leading to changes in molecular relaxation processes and a decrease in the motion of PEO segments. The terahertz waves passing through PEO/SiO2 samples were also influenced by the presence of SiO2, resulting in weakened, broadened, and red-shifted resonant peaks.
