Model Reference Tracking Control Solutions for a Visual Servo System Based on a Virtual State from Unknown Dynamics

Timotei Lala et al.

Summary: This paper validates a model-free Value Iteration Reinforcement Learning (MFVI-RL) control solution on a visual servo tracking system. The results show that the model-free approach outperforms the model-based design in terms of control performance, solving the issues of poor identified system model and control performance degradation. The study also highlights the relationship between the quality of I/O data exploration, control performance, data volume, control goal, and controller complexity.

Exponential H ∞ output tracking control for coupled switched systems with states of different dimensions

Manchun Tan et al.

Summary: This paper presents an output tracking control method for complex switched systems, deriving a delay-dependent stability criterion based on average dwell time and piecewise Lyapunov functional methods. The state feedback controller is utilized for output tracking design, ensuring H infinity tracking performance by solving a linear matrix inequality. Three numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the advantage and effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results.

Robust Luenberger-like observer for control of linear switched systems under arbitrary unknown switched function

Francisco Javier Bejarano et al.

Summary: In this study, a Luenberger-like observer is proposed for observer design in switched linear systems with unknown switching function, allowing for feedback control without the need for dwell-time or differentiation. The observer transforms the original system into one with constant parameters but affected by unknown inputs and state jumps. The robustness of the overall system to parametric uncertainties is demonstrated, showing stability even when system matrices take values beyond the considered range.

H∞ Filtering for Discrete-Time Singular Markovian Jump Systems with Generally Uncertain Transition Rates

Anyou Shen et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the H-infinity filtering for a class of discrete-time singular Markovian jump systems with generally uncertain transition rates, aiming to design a filter that ensures the stability and performance of the filtering error system. The derived sufficient conditions guarantee the stochastic admissibility of the filtering error system, and the explicit expression of filter gains is obtained through solving a set of strict linear matrix inequalities. Additionally, a numerical example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Adaptive optimization algorithm for nonlinear Markov jump systems with partial unknown dynamics

Haiyang Fang et al.

Summary: An online adaptive optimal control problem was studied for a class of nonlinear Markov jump systems with partially unknown dynamic information. By applying neural network linear differential inclusion techniques, nonlinear terms in MJSs were approximated to linear forms. A new online policy iteration algorithm was proposed to obtain an adaptive optimal controller, with theorems provided to ensure the convergence of the new algorithm. A simulation example was used to verify the applicability of the algorithm.

Summary: In this paper, a stability analysis for discrete-time uncertain time-delay systems governed by an infinite-state Markov chain is developed. Sufficient conditions for exponential stability in mean square with conditioning are derived via LMIs, and the equivalence among various stability conditions is established. Numerical simulations are used for result validation.

Summary: This article presents a novel robust observer-based nonlinear control approach for quadrotors, effectively addressing unmodeled dynamics and external disturbances in inner and outer loops to reduce tracking errors. The approach integrates coordinate-free attitude controller and nonlinear disturbance observer in the inner loop subsystem, proven to yield uniformly ultimately bounded solutions through rigorous Lyapunov analysis. Comparative experiments demonstrate superior performance in tracking accuracy and robustness compared to traditional controllers.

A Robust Observer-Based Adaptive Control of Second-Order Systems with Input Saturation via Dead-Zone Lyapunov Functions

Alejandro Rincon et al.

Summary: A novel robust observer-based adaptive controller was developed for second-order input-output systems with unknown second state, applied to concentration tracking in a chemical reactor. The controller exhibited fast response, avoided input chattering, and provided robustness to uncertain model terms, with no discontinuous signals involved. The controller ensured convergence of tracking error to a user-defined compact set, independent of upper bounds of model terms, state variables or disturbances.
