Projecting Saudi sectoral electricity demand in 2030 using a computable general equilibrium model

Salaheddine Soummane et al.

Summary: Electricity demand in Saudi Arabia is undergoing unprecedented changes, with significant deceleration expected in total electricity demand over the next decade, particularly in the industrial and services sectors. Alternative policy scenarios suggest that implementing efficiency measures and energy price reforms can lead to significant energy savings and macroeconomic gains.

Augmenting the distillate water flux of sweeping gas membrane distillation using turbulators: A numerical investigation

Mahmoud Badawy Elsheniti et al.

Summary: This study aims to enhance the distillate flux of sweeping gas membrane distillation (SGMD) modules by adding turbulators in the gas channel. Results showed that using turbulators can reduce vapor concentration polarization and significantly improve distillate flux. This method increases the potential application of low-carbon technologies for heating SGMD feed.

Experimental evaluation of a hybrid photovoltaic and thermal solar energy collector with integrated phase change material (PVT-PCM) in comparison with a traditional photovoltaic (PV) module

Mauricio Carmona et al.

Summary: A novel thermal energy storage and recovery system was proposed to improve the overall efficiency of solar energy collectors by integrating a phase change material in a hybrid module. Experimental comparisons showed that the daily electrical efficiency of the hybrid PVT-PCM module increased by 7.43% compared to the traditional PV module, resulting in a total increase of 20.45% in the capability to extract useful energy from the sun.

Experimental analysis and increasing the energy efficiency of PV cell with nano-PCM (calcium carbonate, silicon carbide, copper)

K. Senthil Kumar et al.

Summary: The use of phase change materials (PCMs) to control the temperature of photovoltaic panels is an important method to improve electrical efficiency. Current research focuses on the impact of materials like Copper, Silicon Carbide, and Calcium Carbonate on the thermal behavior and electrical output of PV panels, using experimental studies and transient energy balance for evaluation.
