Thrombosis in IBD in the Era of JAK Inhibition

Virginia Solitano et al.

Summary: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients have an increased risk of thrombosis, with certain drugs affecting the hemostatic system. Biologics appear to have a protective role against thrombosis, while JAK inhibitors may raise concerns about increased risk. Individualized treatment should consider balancing pre-existing thrombotic risk with medication risks, especially in the era of JAK inhibitors.
