Genome-Wide Identification of Binding Sites for SmTCP7a Transcription Factors of Eggplant during Bacterial Wilt Resistance by ChIP-Seq

Xi'ou Xiao et al.

Summary: The SmTCP7a transcription factor has been found to play a positive regulatory role in bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum. The transcriptome analysis revealed that SmTCP7a regulates a number of genes involved in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, MAPK signaling pathway, plant hormone signal transduction, and plant-pathogen interactions. The study provides a better understanding of the regulatory mechanism of SmTCP7a during the defense response to bacterial wilt in eggplant.

Integrated metabolo-transcriptomics and functional characterization reveals that the wheat auxin receptor TIR1 negatively regulates defense againstFusarium graminearum

Peisen Su et al.

Summary: This study investigated the mechanisms underlying wheat resistance to F. graminearum infection through integrated metabolomics and transcriptomics analysis, identifying potential pathways for improving FHB resistance in wheat. Experiments showed that exogenous application of certain compounds increased wheat resistance to FHB, while knockdown of the auxin receptor gene TaTIR1 also enhanced FHB resistance, indicating the potential use of this gene in crop improvement programs.

Digital gene expression analysis of the response to Ralstonia solanacearum between resistant and susceptible tobacco varieties

YanYan Li et al.

Summary: This study compared the expression profiles of susceptible and resistant tobacco cultivars after R. solanacearum infection to explore molecular mechanisms of tobacco resistance. The upregulation of genes related to WRKY and ERF transcription factors, as well as those involved in glutathione metabolism and phenylpropane pathways, was found in the resistant cultivar response to the infection. Further analysis indicated that genes encoding plant antitoxins were upregulated in the phenylpropane pathway, contributing to disease resistance. Additionally, a pot experiment verified the role of flavonoids in controlling TBW, providing insights into the molecular interactions between tobacco plants and R. solanacearum.

Summary: Differential accumulation of flavonoids was identified as potential biomarkers against Ralstonia solanacearum in resistant Casuarina equisetifolia clones. Up-regulation of flavonoid synthesis-related genes in resistant clones enhances resistance against bacterial wilt. Down-regulation of auxin/indoleacetic acid-related genes and up-regulation of brassinosteroid, salicylic acid and jasmonic acid-related genes trigger defense signals against the pathogen.
