Photothermal synergistic catalytic oxidation of ethyl acetate over MOFs-derived mesoporous N-TiO2 supported Pd catalysts

Xun Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a new material was prepared to improve the photocatalytic efficiency and reduce energy consumption in the oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The material exhibited a rich pore structure and a large specific surface area, facilitating the adsorption of pollutants. Among the catalysts tested, 0.26 Pd/3.2 N-TiO2 showed the best performance. The results demonstrate that doping and loading can enhance the light absorption capacity and reaction activity of the material, leading to the generation of reactive oxygen species and the catalytic removal of pollutants.

Surface tailoring on SrMnO3@SmMn2O5 for boosting the performance in diesel oxidation catalyst

Qilei Yang et al.

Summary: We prepared highly active Mn4+ cations on SMO surface as amorphous MnO2 by removing Sr from the perovskite framework and surface Sm of SMO. Mn4+@SMO catalyst exhibits superior diesel oxidation performance due to its higher average oxidation state of Mn, more oxygen vacancies, stronger covalent bonds of Mn-O, and larger NO adsorption capacity.

Intra-crystalline mesoporous zeolite encapsulation-derived thermally robust metal nanocatalyst in deep oxidation of light alkanes

Honggen Peng et al.

Summary: The study presents a facile strategy to design and synthesize palladium nanoparticles enveloped within a single-crystalline zeolite with intra-mesopores. The resulting material exhibits remarkable performances in light alkane deep oxidation reactions, attributed to the confinement and guarding effect of the zeolite shell and the improvement in mass-transfer efficiency and active metal sites accessibility.

Synergistic effect of binary Co and Ni cations in hydrotalcite-derived Co2-xNixAlO catalysts for promoting soot combustion

Yilin Zhang et al.

Summary: The presence of unsaturated cations in hydrotalcite-derived CoAl oxides is crucial for improving catalytic performance during soot combustion. By partially replacing cobalt with nickel in hydrotalcite-derived CoAl oxides, the surface area and active sites can be increased, leading to improved adsorption-activation properties for O-2 and NO. The synergistic effect of binary Co and Ni ions in hydrotalcite-derived Co2-xNixAlO catalysts greatly enhances catalytic activity for soot combustion.

Metal-Support Interactions on Ag/Co3O4 Nanowire Monolithic Catalysts Promoting Catalytic Soot Combustion

Xingwang Yi et al.

Summary: Tuning metal-support interactions is a crucial strategy in heterogeneous catalysis to achieve desirable performance of metal catalysts. In this study, pre-reduced Co3O4 nanowires supported Ag catalysts were used for efficient soot combustion. The results revealed enhanced interactions between Ag and Co3O4 due to pre-reduction treatment, resulting in increased active oxygen species on the Ag-loaded catalysts. Furthermore, strengthening the metal-support interactions improved metal dispersion and intrinsic activity, leading to higher catalytic performance and stability of the catalyst.

Catalytic performance and intermediates identification of trichloroethylene deep oxidation over Ru/3DOM SnO2 catalysts

Xiaohui Yu et al.

Summary: Ru nanoparticles supported on 3DOM SnO2 exhibited excellent catalytic activity for the oxidation of TCE and/or toluene. The high catalytic performance was attributed to the presence of hydroxyl groups, strong O-2 adsorption ability, low-temperature reducibility, and strong interaction between Ru NPs and 3DOM SnO2. The catalytic mechanism over xRu/3DOM SnO2 under dry and humid conditions was proposed, providing insights for the industrial application of Ru catalysts in the removal of Cl-containing volatile organic compounds.
