Study on the selectivity difference of formaldehyde and ethanol induced by variation of energy gap in In2O3 hierarchical materials

Jing Cao et al.

Summary: Poor selectivity is a serious problem in the development of metal oxide gas sensors. This study prepared a series of In2O3 hierarchical spheres samples with varying solvent-urea, showing different sensitivity to formaldehyde and ethanol. The variation of urea changed the energy gap of the samples, resulting in different selectivity towards formaldehyde and ethanol.

Ultrasonic-triggered Surface Morphological Reconstruction of MoS2 for Enhanced Ultrasensitive Humidity Sensing

Quan Zhou et al.

Summary: This study reports a novel preparation process of defect-rich MoS2 nanospheres through sonication-triggered morphological evolution, leading to the construction of an ultra-responsive humidity sensor. The defect-rich MoS2 nanospheres exhibit remarkably high response values, ultrafast response-recovery behaviors, and excellent repeatability, benefiting from surface defects and rapid charge transfer. The humidity sensing mechanism of the sensor was briefly discussed.

High-Yield Production of Selected 2D Materials by Understanding Their Sonication-Assisted Liquid-Phase Exfoliation

Freskida Goni et al.

Summary: By investigating the low yields in liquid-phase exfoliation process, it was found that the equilibrium formed between the exfoliated nanosheets and the flocculated ones during sonication is the main cause. Avoiding this equilibrium can significantly increase the yields, leading to high-yield production of 2D nanomaterials.
