Large-size high-strength and high-ductility AlCoCrFeNi2.1 eutectic high-entropy alloy produced by hot-rolling and subsequent aging

Zhe Liu et al.

Summary: The feasibility of thermomechanical processing for large-size AlCoCrFeNi2.1 eutectic high-entropy alloy has been evaluated. It is found that hot-rolling can achieve outstanding tensile properties comparable to cold-rolling, while cold-rolling and warm-rolling are not effective in deforming large-size AlCoCrFeNi2.1.

Strengthening in Al-, Mo- or Ti-doped CoCrFeNi high entropy alloys: A parallel comparison

Xi Li et al.

Summary: In this study, the influence of Al, Mo, and Ti on the microstructure and strengthening of the CoCrFeNi alloy was compared, revealing that Al and Ti are more effective than Mo in reducing stacking fault energy. Different doping elements lead to varying levels of solid solution and grain boundary strengthening in the alloy. This research presents valuable insights for designing high-strength alloys by manipulating solid solution and grain boundary strengthening through compositional tuning.

Decelerated grain growth kinetic and effectiveness of Hall-Petch relationship in a cold-rolled non-equiatomic high entropy alloy

M. H. Mohammad-Ebrahimi et al.

Summary: The study revealed that the grain growth kinetics of high entropy alloy is extremely low during high temperature annealing, mainly due to the solute drag like effect of whole-solute matrix and sluggish diffusion. Grain boundaries act as an effective barrier against dislocation motion, resulting in a balance between strength and ductility.
