Improved fuzzy chance-constrained optimization of booster strategy for water distribution system under uncertainty

Summary: This study proposed an improved fuzzy chance-constrained optimization model to optimize chlorine injection and location for uniform distribution in a WDS. Results showed that injection mass increased with the increase in preference parameter. Additionally, more booster stations can lower the injection mass, and two booster stations were found to be suitable for WDS in Case 2.

Summary: The study proposed an IMFCCP model to optimize the injection of chlorine in water distribution systems to maintain chlorine levels at an acceptable level, considering uncertainty in water quality simulation. Results showed that with an increase in the preference parameter lambda, the upper bounds, lower bounds, and intervals of injection mass increased, indicating less reliability. The effect of reliability level zeta on injection mass depended on the relationship between lambda and zeta.
