Multi-Thoracolumbar Variations and NR6A1 Gene Polymorphisms Potentially Associated with Body Size and Carcass Traits of Dezhou Donkey

Ziwen Liu et al.

Summary: This study found that there is variation in the number of thoracic and lumbar vertebrae in Dezhou donkeys, and genetic variations in the NR6A1 gene may play an important role in regulating the development of thoracolumbar vertebrae. By analyzing the relationship between seven single nucleotide variants (SNVs) in the NR6A1 gene and body size traits and carcass traits of Dezhou donkey, it was found that different loci are associated with different traits, and the mutation effect is not completely consistent. Furthermore, the study found that seven SNVs in the NR6A1 gene are significantly associated with the TLN, body size, and carcass traits of Dezhou donkey. These findings are important for the study of thoracolumbar vertebrae in Dezhou donkeys and for marker assisted selection in donkey breeding programs.

Estimation of Liveweight from Body Measurements through Best Fitted Regression Model in Dezhou Donkey Breed

Zhenwei Zhang et al.

Summary: An analysis of body weight and body size of Dezhou donkey revealed significant positive correlations, with improved prediction accuracy for body weight when more body measurement variables were included. Predicted body weight from the equations showed close resemblance to real body weight, indicating the importance of considering multiple body dimensions in predicting body weight accurately.

Single-cell RNA Sequencing Reveals Thoracolumbar Vertebra Heterogeneity and Rib-genesis in Pigs

Jianbo Li et al.

Summary: The study investigated the gene expression profiles in thoracic vertebra, lumbar vertebra, and rib cells of pig embryos, revealing a coupled process of osteogenesis and angiogenesis during the development of these structures. A high level of specific sequence was found in osteoblasts of osteogenic cells, which may play a role in determining the transition of thoracolumbar vertebrae.
