Fusing Attention Network Based on Dilated Convolution for Superresolution

Zhaoyang Song et al.

Summary: Deep neural networks with different filters or multiple branches have achieved good performance for single superresolution. However, they ignore the high-frequency components of the multiscale context information of the low-resolution image. To solve this problem, we propose a fusing attention network based on dilated convolution (DFAN) for SR. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed DFAN achieves performance improvements in terms of visual quality evaluation and quantitative evaluation.

LA-Net: A Multi-Task Deep Network for the Segmentation of the Left Atrium

Fatmatulzehra Uslu et al.

Summary: The study introduces LA-Net, a multi-task network optimized for simultaneous left atrial segmentation and edge mask generation from MRI images. The method outperforms previously proposed segmentation networks on two MR sequences without the need for post-processing, showing promise for playing a significant role in the management of AF patients.

Unsupervised Domain Adaptation With Variational Approximation for Cardiac Segmentation

Fuping Wu et al.

Summary: Unsupervised domain adaptation is effective in medical image segmentation, especially when ground truths of target images are unavailable. A new framework is proposed in this study, utilizing VAEs, networks, and regularization to drive latent features of two domains towards a common variational form. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperformed state-of-the-art approaches in cardiac segmentation tasks, indicating good potential in this area.

Multi-Atlas Image Soft Segmentation via Computation of the Expected Label Value

Iman Aganj et al.

Summary: A new approach for medical image segmentation is proposed, which calculates the probability of all possible atlas-to-image transformations and the expected label value (ELV), avoiding the issue of local optima. This method does not require actually performing deformable registration, hence saving computational costs.

Xinyu Yang et al.

Summary: A novel deep adversarial network, DBAN, is proposed for left ventricle, right ventricle, and myocardium segmentation in short-axis cardiac MRI. Experimental results show that DBAN achieves state-of-the-art performance on the ACDC dataset, with cardiac function indices similar to those from clinical experts.
