The aqueous chemistry of the copper-ammonia system and its implications for the sustainable recovery of copper

Lilian Velasquez-Yevenes et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that ion association in ammonium salt solutions significantly affects the dissociation constant of the ammonium ion and subsequently influences the solubility of copper. The results also show that temperature and addition of chloride ions play a role in the solubility of copper in ammonia solution. Therefore, selecting the appropriate anionic ligands and controlling the temperature are crucial for achieving high dissolution of copper in ammoniacal systems.

The Catalytic Activity of Carbon-Supported Cu(I)-Phosphine Complexes for the Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of 1,2,3-Triazoles

Ivy L. Librando et al.

Summary: A group of Cu(I) complexes with DAPTA phosphine ligands were immobilized on activated carbon and multi-walled carbon nanotubes for efficient catalysis in the one-pot synthesis of 1,2,3-triazoles via azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction. The immobilized catalysts showed high catalytic activity and could be easily recovered and reused up to four consecutive cycles.
