Visible Light Reductive Photocatalysis of Azo-Dyes with n-n Junctions Based on Chemically Deposited CdS

Michele Mazzanti et al.

Summary: New composite photocatalysts were prepared by chemical bath deposition, and their photoelectrochemical and photochemical properties were compared. The results showed that the carrier dynamics and electron collection abilities differ in the two systems with different nanostructured crystalline films (ZrO2 or TiO2) on conductive glass. The FTO/TiO2/CdS films exhibited higher activity in the reductive cleavage of N=N bonds under visible light irradiation compared to FTO/ZrO2/CdS films.

Synthesis and Photocatalytic Activity of TiO2/CdS Nanocomposites with Co-Exposed Anatase Highly Reactive Facets

Yi-en Du et al.

Summary: In this study, TiO2/CdS nanocomposites with different exposed facets were synthesized and characterized. Among them, FMA-TiO2/CdS exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity with a degradation efficiency of 88.4%, attributed to its largest surface energy, co-exposed {101}/{010} facets, lowest photoluminescence intensity, lower charge-transfer resistance, and higher charge-transfer efficiency.

Photocatalytic reduction of nitroaromatics into anilines using CeO2-TiO2 nanocomposite

Caiyun Lu et al.

Summary: Nitro compounds can be efficiently reduced to amines using cerium dioxide decorated TiO2 nanoparticles synthesized through a sol-gelhydrothermal method. The nanocomposite exhibits high stability and can be reused for up to five cycles without loss of metal content. The synthesized nanomaterials were characterized using various spectroscopic techniques.
