Effects of parent-provider communication during infant hospitalization in the NICU on parents: A systematic review with meta-synthesis and narrative synthesis

Summary: This study synthesized and analyzed the literature on the effects of parent-provider communication in the NICU on parent-related outcomes. The results revealed that parent-provider interaction had positive and negative effects on parents' coping, knowledge, participation, parenting, and satisfaction. Communication interventions appeared impactful in reducing parental stress and anxiety.
